Why You Should NOT Go Without Health Insurance To Rebel Against Obamacare

I know that there are people who are preaching, “Don’t buy Obama’s Health Insurance, That Will Show Him!”

Unfortunately, that is bad advice.  The only person that advice can hurt is you.

The PPACA was forced through congress with the support of doctors, nurses and hospitals.  Although the law was supposed to make health care more affordable, it did very little to health care providers while it caused massive premium increases to those with health insurance.

In the last 3.5 years medical treatment costs have increased faster than the national rate of inflation.  Unfortunately, as doctors and hospitals continue to raise their fees for taking care of the health of American citizens, insurance companies have been forced to raise their rates accordingly, because existing state laws require them to collect enough each year to pay the bills they get from doctors and hospitals.

The result is, that while Obamacare has done very little to help the American middle class, it is a boon for those in the lower-income levels and those employed in the health-care industry.

On one hand, it makes sense for middle-class Americans to urge a national boycott of Obamacare.  As a middle class American, I understand how harmful Obamacare is.

However, I also understand how much hospitals and doctors have raised their fees.  When a doctor charges an insurance company several hundred dollars for a “Free” Preventive Care exam, I feel that the term, “price-gouging” is not an excess one to describe what doctors and hospitals are doing to the American public.

I was in college in Chattanooga, TN when Knoxville, TN hosted a World’s Fair back in the 70s.  At that time people were justifiably angry with the hotels in Knoxville that doubled and tripled their room rates during the fair.

Those Americans who think that they are making a point to Obama by refusing to buy an Obamacare approved plan have forgotten a few things.

  1. It is not the politicians who will enforce your lack of an approved health insurance policy but the IRS.
  2. President Obama and Kathleen Sebelius will never see your protest.
  3. Even if they would happen to see your protest, I am not convinced that they would care.
  4. If you do not have health insurance and get sick, you are still required to pay your doctor and/or hospital’s bill.

Nobody can successfully accuse me of being an Obamacare supporter.  I will admit that I do not trust a word that comes out of the White House.   In my opinion, Barack Obama’s legacy is not Health Care Reform but corruption.

Barack Obama is nothing more than a dishonest politician.  When he is not making excuses for his own failures, he is lying about something.   I have gotten to the point where if I see his face on TV, I change the channel.  Just the site of him increases my blood-pressure.

Never-the-less, I cannot, in good conscience, advise anyone to boycott Obamacare.  It may be flawed but it is the only way that you can protect yourself from greedy hospital administrators if you get sick and need health care.

If you must express your anger, do it in the voting booth and get rid of all the clowns in D.C. who forced Obamacare on us.  Don’t harm yourself just because you are angry with someone else.
