If you, or a loved one, participates in Medicare Advantage or Medicare D, you should be getting an Announcement of Changes packet, from your insurance company, by the end of September.
When you get it, don’t be intimidated by its size. READ IT!
If your insurance company is going to make changes for 2015, you only have 6 weeks to react.
If you do not make adjustments from October 15 to December 7 of 2014, your plan will automatically renew for next year. You will be stuck for all of 2015.*
* There is one exception. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan and wish to “Disenroll” and return to Original Medicare, you will have another 6 week window (January 1 – February 15).
